Automatic Gate Service Pricing

Every automatic gate system is different. Pricing varies depending on the gate itself, the operator driving it, the parts required, the access control equipment involved and the repair or installation work needed. Rather than publish figures that would not apply to your gate, we would rather look at what you have and give you an accurate picture.

Repairs

Automatic Gate Repair Pricing

Repair pricing depends on which part of the system has failed and what it takes to put right. The categories below cover the work we are called out for most often. Pricing varies depending on the issue, parts required and type of gate system.

Automatic Gate Diagnostic / Inspection

A technician tests the gate, operator, safety devices and access control to identify the actual fault.

Installations

Gate Installation Pricing

Installation pricing is driven by the site as much as the equipment. Post and foundation work, driveway slope, how far power has to be run, the gate's size and material, the operator class required and the access control specified all change the scope of the job.

Cost Drivers

What Affects Automatic Gate Pricing?

Gate Type

Sliding, swing, cantilever, single or double leaf — each needs different hardware and labor.

Gate Size & Weight

Heavier and longer gates require stronger operators and more substantial supporting hardware.

Motor / Operator

Operator class is driven by gate load and daily cycle count, and it is the biggest single variable.

Parts Required

Whether a component can be repaired, a part is readily available, or an assembly must be replaced.

Access Control Equipment

Keypads, intercoms, readers, loop detectors and smart entry each add their own scope.

Labor & Complexity

Site access, post and foundation work, welding and how much of the system must be dismantled.

Electrical Requirements

Running power to the entrance, new cable runs and correcting existing electrical faults.

Emergency Service

After-hours attendance is priced differently from scheduled daytime service.

Decisions

Repair vs Replacement

Plenty of gate problems are single-component failures on an otherwise healthy system — a capacitor, a roller set, a photo-eye, a control board. In those cases a targeted repair restores normal operation and there is no reason to replace working equipment.

Replacement becomes the more sensible option in specific circumstances: an operator that is obsolete with no parts available, equipment that was undersized for the gate from the start and keeps failing, or a gate structure with serious corrosion or impact damage. We tell you which situation you are in and let you decide — replacement is not always necessary.

Property Type

Residential vs Commercial Pricing

Residential Automatic Gates

Residential work ranges from adding an operator to an existing driveway gate, through repairs to motors, sensors and entry devices, up to a complete new gate with posts, automation and access control. The scope, not the label, determines the cost.

Commercial Automatic Gates

Commercial systems typically need heavier-duty operators rated for high cycle counts, additional safety equipment where vehicles and pedestrians share the entrance, and more complex multi-user access control — all of which add scope compared with a comparable residential gate.
